Dealing With Eczema Breakouts & Healthy Living

Do you ever feel overwhelmed by healthy living?

It’s not that you don’t understand or agree with why it matters. I’m sure that you’re sold on the merits of eating whole foods, raising healthier kids, avoiding toxins and chemicals, getting fit, and using alternative remedies.

But sometimes it’s a whole lot easier to say than to actually do, right? Believe me, I’ve had the same struggles and questions as you. What on earth do you eat (and especially, what do you feed your kids when they refuse everything that you put in front of them)? How do you afford to buy healthier products? And where do you find the time to make and do all this stuff?

These last two months have been really rough in our household. My oldest has had seasonal eczema on his ankles and feet since he was a baby, and it usually rears its ugly head in the winter. Tons of moisturizer tends to take care of it. For some reason this summer the eczema decided to spontaneously appear, only it wasn’t just on his feet and ankles. It spread to his arms, then his chest, then his back, face and ears.  I felt terrible. My boy was uncomfortable and constantly itchy, which resorted in infections caused by scratching, and nothing that we did was helping. Even the doctors were perplexed (and still are). They prescribed antibacterial creams (didn’t work), antibiotics (didn’t work), and steroid creams. We altered his diet in case it was a food allergy. Nothing was working. I was in tears almost every night and getting mad at myself for being frustrated by his constant scratching due to being itchy even though he knew he shouldn’t. I know he couldn’t help it.

The thing that finally worked (or at least it’s working so far) was a stronger steroid cream. But there has to be another way. A healthier way. I’m not comfortable with the fact that what I’m putting on my son’s body is something that I have to wash off of my hands immediately after applying it. If I shouldn’t keep it on me as an adult, how can it be beneficial for a child? I wish that someone would tell me another way. That they would tell me exactly what I need to know and how to make the necessary changes. Don’t you?

I’m really looking forward to a new bundle that’s coming out on Sept. 21. that I’m hoping will help me with just that. It’s the Ultimate Healthy Living Bundle (Disclaimer: I am an affiliate of the product and will  earn a commission if you buy something. Yay!). This is the fifth year that it will be available, but I’ve missed out on prior years because it’s only on sale for a few days. I did manage to snag the Ultimate Homemaker’s Bundle earlier this year though and it was incredible. Stephanie and her team do an amazing job at making sure that everything included is valuable. You sort of need to see it to believe it, but the package includes 83 digital products and it’s worth over $2,400 for only $29.97 (PDF), $39.97 (eReader). There’s also extra bonuses valued at over $250. Exciting!!!! (Plus I just love getting deals. I almost squealed with joy on the weekend when I saved over $700 thanks to sales. Ok, maybe I did make a few excited squeals.)

With any luck, they’ll include a section on all natural remedies that work and I won’t have to worry about the steroid creams anymore.

If you’ve found a recipe for a natural cream or lotion that works well on eczema, please share in the comments below or send me an email so that I can check them out.

Now, on to deal with reorganizing my evenings!

5 Ways to Get More Traffic to Your Site For Free

I hope to one day have read the entirety of the internet. With how much it grows daily however, it’s unlikely to happen. It’s hard to compete in the world wide web when it comes to launching a new blog or business. You can have the best content and the best design, but none of it will matter if you don’t have traffic coming in. Paid advertising is always an option for those who have the extra for ad spend; but for those who don’t or want to save a few bucks, here are 5 ways that you can get more traffic for free.
